become – coffee shops to work from in Taipei

become is a quaint, quiet, and airy coffee shop in Da-an with food, coffee, and space to work.

I came on a cloudy Thursday afternoon and I was the only customer for most of it. I’m not sure how packed it might be during earlier times.

Coffee

I search by coffee shops that offer oatmilk or alternative milk options and become is one of them. (I made a guess when I showed up based on aesthetics whether they had oatmilk, and they do!) It was 140NT for a latte +30 for oatmilk, Oatly branded.

Their coffee is simple but good, with options like americanos, lattes, and brown sugar latte. They’ve also got sicilian, a trending coffee drink in Taiwan. For house drinks try their flavored milks or fresh juices. Prices rane from 100 – 180 NTD (reasonable in Taipei now.)

Food

become advertises itself as flexitarian, with plenty of vegetarian options. Although I’m not vegetarian I found myself craving eggs and ordered the spinach avocado salad with pico. It was a hearty meal with generous serving of avocado and reasonably priced (350 NTD)

Dessert

It’s strawberry season, and at become you can get a free strawberry pudding as a first time visitor. You’ll need to register on oddle to start collecting points and get the dessert. It’s worth it, light delicious and not overly sweet.

Menu

become’s menu has a wide range of mains available, as well as a la carte options to add on to your meal. I’m definitely coming back to try the rest of the food!

NOTE: become cafe is CASH ONLY.
