Traditional Taiwanese Beef Noodles and Fried Rice

Yinji Hand-cut Beef Noodles is a preserved slice of history near Zhongxiao Xinsheng station. With more than a decade of service, it feels like you’ve walked into a history book, dining on noodles and rice that generations before you have dined on.

With a giant bronze Chang Kai Shek bust at the entryway, you can expect the rest of the theme to follow. One wall displays every president that Taiwan has had. Each election a new portrait goes up on the wall.

The other walls are filled with photos from historical moments

Beef Noodles and Fried Rice

Yin Ji Shou Gan Dao Qie serves a full menu. One side is all the different types of noodles from beef, vegetarian, and sesame paste. The other side lists out fried rice from egg, beef, spicy pork, pineapple and shrimp and more.

There’s also pork and beef dumplings. Sides are laid out on the counter by the kitchen and include the classics like century preserved eggs, braised tofu, and pork ear. In one of the rooms theres free-flow milk tea, tea, and water, a pot of chilli sauce, and utensils for you to use.

We arrived at 2:30pm, 30 minutes before closing, by that time many items were sold out on the menu. We stuck with the beef theme and ordered beef noodles, beef fried rice, and beef dumplings. We ordered the small sized noodles and rice, and it was more than enough to share between 2!

The perfect pit stop after a day of shopping at Guanghua Plaza, after lunch and walking around, I recommend Village Spa for a relaxing massage.

Photo from their Facebook. They famously have a large bronze sculpture of Chang Kai Shek. Since Covid he’s donned a Taiwan face mask.
